Crock Pot Spareribs (a la Allspice)

Crock Pot Spareribs (a la Allspice)

A yummy recipe for those who enjoy Allspice.

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons ground allspice
2 pounds country style pork ribs
1/4 cup butter
1 (10.5 ounce) can beef broth

Instructions:

Mix together the pepper, sugar, salt and allspice. Pat each rib dry then sprinkle the spice mixture generously over each rib.

Prepare large skillet by melting butter over medium-high heat. Be careful not to burn. Brown ribs on all sides in the butter to sear in the juices. Transfer to Crockpot then pour in the beef broth, cover, and cook on low about 5 1/2 -6 hours, or until ribs are fork tender. Do not remove the lid during cooking.

Note: this qualifies as a gluten-free recipe as long as the beef broth used is gluten-free. Not all are. So check before purchasing.
